Prime Real Estate Domain Sells to Enduser

Congratulations to the purchaser of AscotRealEstate.com.au.
Ascot is a premium Brisbane suburb, and this domain name will serve the buyer well when it is ultimately developed.
This year has been the best year ever for us in terms of real estate domains selling to end-users. e.g. Real Estate agents, property developers etc.
Over 20 years, I’ve always believed in the value of these, but unfortunately, not too many agents or developers have!
But just like the property market, the cyber property market for these location specific domains has gone wild.
Apart from Ascot, we’ve also just concluded a sale on a major Melbourne suburb real estate domain. More to follow in a subsequent article.
Why?
A suburb specific domain name is never going to take the place of RealEstate com au or Domain com au, but it is another valuable tool in the marketing department arsenal.
Imagine doing a listing proposal for a property in Ascot. The agent goes through the normal blurb, and then says we also “own AscotRealEstate.com.au“, and your property will be listed prominently there as well (and not getting lost in amongst hundreds or thousands of other listings).
My pitch has always been that if the agent or property developer gets just one sale as a result of being the registrant of this domain, then the commission from that sale will pay for the domain name several times over! Rinse and repeat.
I also suggest that you wouldn’t want your competitors to have it would you?
That is the value proposition.
